ADUG 2021 Annual General Meeting

Date

Monday 15th November, 2021, 6:15 PM

Location

The AGM will be before the Melbourne meeting. At this stage it is probably safe to assume that the state will still be in lockdown. The link for the meeting will be posted here soon.

Committee nominations

ADUG is a totally volunteer run organisation, and like most organisations, we have the core roles. The ADUG committee is made up of:

  • the president
  • the vice-president
  • the secretary
  • the treasurer
  • up to 5 ordinary committee members

Nominations of candidates for election to positions on the committee must be made in writing, specifying the position for which the candidate is nominated, signed by two members of the Association and accompanied by the written consent of the candidate (which may be endorsed on the form of nomination).

An eligible member of the Association may nominate themselves; or, with the member’s consent, be nominated by another member.

Nominations must be delivered to the President of the Association not less than 7 days before the date fixed for the holding of the Annual General Meeting, by email
secretary@adug.org.au

Nomination Form

If there are more nominations than positions then a vote will be taken at the AGM.

To nominate or be nominated, you need to be a currently financial member of ADUG.

Proxy voting

If you wish to vote, but won’t be present at the AGM, you may submit a proxy as described in rule 34 of the ADUG rules. Proxies need to be with the secretary by 5 pm on the day before the AGM. They may be lodged by email to secretary@adug.org.au or as hard copy.

Agenda
  • President report
  • Treasurer report
  • Committee election

If there are more nominations than positions then a vote will be taken at the AGM.

The AGM will be followed by the normal Melbourne ADUG meeting

For the meeting following we are going to run a bit more on Virtual Treeview.

It was quite a popular topic last month with lots of people using it and
being able to provide input. There seemed to be a quite bit more in it
that would be worth covering.

The ADUG meeting following the AGM will start with a brief “Public Soap Box” where attendees can ask questions, share discoveries or talk about code.

I spent quite some time fighting with it (and getting bruised) after last months presentation.

Brian Watson
A 20 min slot on how the interface that can be returned from a VTV node
saved our bacon.

Grahame Grieve
Has offered to do a 40-60 minute presentation on VTV.

John McDonald
Will provide a short follow up on last months presentation (Time Permitting).

Quite a few barriers to entry there for members who would like to cast a vote.

Perhaps the post could be expanded to:

  • Quote rule 34 or provide a link to it.
  • Provide a link to a proxy form
  • Clear up where it needs to be sent, the text says to the secretary, the email is for the president (though the underlying email link is to the secretary).

Yesterday notices of the upcoming AGM were sent to all members via email. Any paid members that did not receive it please check your SPAM filters or current email address.

A copy of email notice is also provided below -

Dear ADUG Member,
