ADUG Melbourne Monday 20th April ONLINE ONLY

Zoom Only

Hi all,
Sorry for the very late announcement.

Unfortunately, I have achieved nothing on about 3 fronts this month, and don’t have a presentation or a presenter for tomorrow night.

So, I thought it best to run this meeting online only.

We can discuss the upcoming symposium, and if anyone has thoughts on topics and presentations they would like to see or give at future meetings.

There seems to be plenty of discussions in the forum around mobile (Android) development, especially on current android platforms. And fmx too.

Monday 20th April from 6:00 for a 6:15 start.
Zoom, links will be up here shortly before the meeting starts.

Adug April Meeting,

Roger Connell will have something to present by year end.
A second part to his previous presentation.

He has been having issues debugging on (older?) Android phones with
recent versions of Delphi. (Sorry I may have much of this wrong)
Apparently, The transfer of the debug symbols, etc doesn’t complete
before the debugger starts executing. So it can’t break where it should
because it doesn’t have the symbols.

He also had issues with USB leads, a shorter lead worked where a longer one did
not.

Alex Moss also spoke a little about USB and leads. As he is a band
member I suggested he could use his trombone to get us all back to the
symposium after breaks. (Might be too loud, a plastic one might be more
the go)

I have a treedix USB cable tester which seems to be quite good, but was
unable to find it last night to show it. I have found often USB cables
that are well used, eventually stop working. The USB cable connectors
are designed to be the part that fails.

John McDonald mentioned he may also have a follow on presentation on
some of the iteration and filtering functionality has previously shown.

Then Geoff showed us some of the stuff he has been doing, he has been
very busy keeping Claude Code happy.

He has built an IDE and integration to put VBA into your own Delphi
Program. Then similar for Javascript, PHP (PHP much more effort)

Also made a Git Analyser, could graph rate of commits, and much more.

There were some comments on last years symposium,
Audio from the external loud speaker didn’t make it onto Zoom very well.
How to get Microphone or similar to Question askers, (and how to take it
away from them as well)

Thank you all attendees.
