My version of Delphi 10.4.2 comes up with the error “Socket Error # 10022” Invalid argument…" when starting. I have tried all sorts of things including completely removing 10.4.2 and re-installing it - but the error persists. Has anyone come across this or have any suggested sollutions?
Remove the settings from the registry and try again (export them first)?
Turns out I when I turned off the Wireguard VPN I had activated everything worked.
A friend is having the same issue with BitDefender VPN. (with 11.3)
Can other people start Delphi AND use a VPN together?
@Geoff did you get around this at all?
At Embarcadero (and Idera) we use various VPNs and I’ve not had a problem with one nor have I heard of anyone else having an issue either.
I know several Tech Partners and MVPs who also regularly use VPNs and RAD Studio and I’ve not had anyone tell me it’s a problem - which I am pretty sure they would. ¯\(ツ)/¯
Also, I should point out I’ve used 10.42 and 11.3 for several years, often with VPNs enabled. Although, as you might expect, I mainly use 12.3 “and above” at the moment. ![]()
Apart from turning off the VPN, it still has this problem. I have not had this problem in later versions. I suspect it may be caused by one of the components I have installed in 10.4 - but I have quite a few, so it would be hard to diagnose.
