FireMonkey Cross-Platform Application Programming

Has anyone seen the book “Delphi in all its glory Part 4 FireMonkey Cross-Platform Application Programming”? Released in December 2025.

Was it of value?

Apparently one can buy the paper book or electronic version. I am not sure the electronic version suits me as you need an internet connection to their server to read it.

I saw it listed on the website gabrielmoraru.com
Parts 1 and 2 and 3 are also available.

I have his first three books and am very impressed with his style of writing. Good value. Learn a lot.

At this stage, not interested in FMX so I have not ordered that book.

Thanks to your post, I just ordered the AI Assisted Programming book from Amazon.com.au (make sure of the AU address)

Malcolm

Hi Malcolm,

Which specific book are you referring to?
Full book name, author etc

Lex

“Delphi, in all its Glory” by Gabriel Moraru. Search on Amazon.com.au

Hi Malcolm,

Looks really good.
Will be very interested in hearing what you think about it once you have read it.

Cheers,
Lex

Requiring internet access to read an ebook kills any chance of a purchase by me.

I’m confused. Where does it say you need to be connected to the internet to read it?

I am not seeing that.

An Internet connection will be required in order to read the book. Note: This is not a subscription or other similar trickery. The book is yours for life. But you will have to connect to the licensing server to validate that you purchased the book.

Oh that’s dumb. I couldn’t even find that page when looked for it.

Why on Earth is he doing it that way? So, you can’t even load it into a Kindle or anything like that?

I will email him and ask him why. I am pretty sure almost no-one would buy the EBook like that.

I’m guessing it’s to prevent unauthorised copying / distribution, bit I think it will cause more lost sales than any piracy would have.

You can buy his printed books from Amazon.

Lex

Of course, but I (and I suspect many others) prefer electronic versions.

I just tried to order the paper copy. His website only seems to list Parts 1 through 3. I could not find Part 4 on Amazon co uk or Amazon com. I have given up.

Well, maybe not. Holger Flick refuses to produce EBook versions of his work after having been ripped off before. It’s a common experience TBH.

Kindle versions are more secure but if you go via Amazon you will lose a substantial amount of the cover price to them.

amazon.com.au search for “Delphi in all its glory”. Just checked it IS there.

Crikey that was quick. I ordered the book on Friday evening. It arrived in Melbourne before 11.30 am today, Monday.

Thanks for the link.
