Migration from Lightsail to EC2 - Site for AWS certified people

I had set up a Lightsail Windows server for the Client. Not Linux because of the difficulties with Linux target code from Delphi. Even PHP was preferable than Delphi/Linux issues.

Now that they are going live -

  • I had assumed naively that AWS were backing up the server. I have regular backups of their data and infrastructure. But the biggest downtime is setting up Windows and IIS.
  • It turns out that Automatic WIndows backup is not supported on Lightsail
  • I want to migrate to EC2

Never having done it before, I want to hire someone to do it.

  • I have better things to do
  • I charge my client hourly and it may even be cheaper for someone else to do it.

Is there a site or forum for AWS certified people that you have used with success.

When you say “difficulties with Linux target code” - what are the difficulties? I have been using it with various flavors of Linux and Jim McKeeth actually ditched his Windows machine and has swapped to a Linux machine as his daily driver. AFAIK neither of us have problems.
