I haven’t been receiving my emails for awhile.
I have just logged in and see a System message ‘Is your email address correct?’.
That message was sent 15d ago.
How do I restart the messages?
How do I get the missing messages?

I reset your account - it was flagged with too many bounces - I don’t believe there is a way for a user to reset it themselves as the reset option was in an admin page.
Thank you for actioning the matter so quickly. At that time of 15d I was traveling. However, that fact should not affect the receipt of messages to my email provider.
Hi Vincent
Would you please check my account as I haven’t received any ADUG messages for some time now.
I assume that members are still using the list.
I was having problems with my email provider due to a similar problem and maybe the problem had spread.

Hi Graeme
Your account was one of a bunch that I unblocked this morning - so you should be getting emails now - I just checked and it is not showing any new bounces for you.
Note that unblocking the account after bounces does not then send out the emails you missed, the only way to catch up is to login to the forum.
Thanks Vincent
I have just checked my account. I have a secondary email address set up.
Why wasn’t an email sent to my secondary email address notifying me of the problem?
Excuse me for butting in. It seems to me that you had a problem with your email provider. So why blame ADUG?
Surely, you could have thought there is something wrong, and logged in.
BTW, non of the places I am logged into does a reliable email notification, not even Stack Exchange. Well, except for the messages to me as a moderator, they are the only ones that are reliable.
That’s OK.
I was not blaming ADUG. I had a similar problem to Peter and wondered whether it was because my account was blocked (which it was).
I had previously spoken to my email provider and wondered if this problem was causing the bounces detected by ADUG which caused my account to be blocked.
Seems like I may have been correct.
Regards
Graeme
Rohit Gupta,
You are incorrect in saying that “It seems to me that you had a problem with your email provider”. That remains to be established.
The other person impacted by this non delivery of emails, GK, when I last looked, has a different email provider to me.
According to VP “Your account was one of a bunch that I unblocked this morning”. I don’t know the meaning of “a bunch”. Perhaps it only means me and GK. Perhaps GK has switched to the same provider as me and it only impacts our common provider. Perhaps VP can inform us of the meaning of “a bunch”.
Anyway, it would seem, on the face of it, that the problem is with ADUG systems.
You state “Surely, you could have thought there is something wrong, and logged in”.
I did, when I returned from my journeys.
I am now following up the issue, but I have not received a clear explanation of the outage that has impacted “a bunch” of members.
There were around 10 accounts that I unblocked, they all seemed to experience bounces on Feb 19th - whether that is a coincidence or not I do not know. It could also be a problem with our mail provider (hard to tell from the bounce messages).
For an account to get blocked from sending email to, it has to have bounced 4 times. If there is a mail problem on either end, that threshold could be reached in one day (if the forum has lots of posts).
The bounce score resets after 30 days.
FWIW, after unblocking those accounts, only 1 bounced again.
I will monitor the email logs over the next few weeks to see how it’s going.
Vincent, thank you for looking into the issue.
