I made the file Lex base.eexe so You need to rename it and read the about in the application. if you take the file place it on a USB stick you clear the windows non-exe operating lock.
Why don’t you post some screenshots, and spell out what you would like opinions on? 
Having run your exe in a disposable VM, it appears that adding nodes on the left always adds to the first level, not the level that was right-clicked?

Windows Sandbox is also a handy way to run isolated apps. It’s part of Windows 10/11.
