TMS FNC Localization use case in FontCreator

TMS FNC Localization started in FontCreator. For years, High-Logic localized its font editor with a layer Erwin Denissen wrote himself: a folder of language files and a manager that replaced the text on each form. It worked, but it had no editor, and no other Delphi developer could use it.

Erwin contacted us, and together we turned that layer into TMS FNC Localization. In his words: “It was not designed in the abstract. Every part of it exists because a real application needed it.”

FontCreator now runs on it in 17 languages, on Windows with a VCL application of 88 forms and on macOS with FireMonkey. Each language holds about 3,850 strings, and a full language switch takes about 223 ms.
