Surely there is a better way. Every time there is a new Delphi version (and often it does not keep my old settings for the IDE), I have to sit with the options open side by side either two computers or on two versions. And transfer them, one screen at time.
I thought I would copy over the files under user/AppData/Roaming/Embarcadero/BDS/23.0, but that didn’t work.
Well I can see your point, but it’s supposed to do its thing without the IDE running so I suppose it would need to tell you to close the IDE if you ran it from the tools menu. It is in the Windows start menu with all the other shortcuts.
I don’t think many people know about the Settings Migration Tool. It probably deserves a mention on the IDE Welcome screen or perhaps a dialog on first run of the IDE after a new install letting people know it exists.
